Andrea Poole, New Executive Director at North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority
The Board of Directors of the North Carolina Education Assistance Authority (NCSEAA) has elected Andrea Poole as the agency’s fourth executive director, effective January 25.
Ms. Poole brings extensive experience in higher education and financial aid, and currently is Vice-President of Strategic Initiatives for the NC Community College System Office. Prior to joining the Community College System Office, she worked for the UNC System Office, first as the Associate Vice President of Finance and University Budgets and then as Secretary of the University. From 2005-2013, she worked in the Fiscal Research Division of the North Carolina General Assembly, providing fiscal and policy analysis to legislators on higher education, financial aid, and health and human service topics.
“Andrea has worked collaboratively with NCSEAA for over ten years in her various capacities,” said Elizabeth McDuffie, Executive Director of NCSEAA. “She joins us with a solid background on the Authority’s extensive work and contributions to the state.”
Ms. Poole holds a Bachelor of Science from Duke University and a Master of Public Administration from North Carolina State University. Originally from Bedford, Massachusetts, she lives in Raleigh with her husband and daughter.
