Clay is a founding member of Jackson Hill & Fish in Raleigh, NC. Since 2000, he has been helping busy executives and business owners organize and manage their financial lives, so that they can spend more time on the things they value most.

Together with Chris Hill and Ben Fish, he built an independent firm specifically to cater to the personal and financial needs of busy executives and business owners.  Clay holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst^® (CIMA®) designation sponsored by the Investments & Wealth Institute™ (The Institute) at the Wharton School. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

Clay has been active with several community organizations including SAFEchild of Wake County and the North Carolina Symphony.
