Appointed on June 8, 2021 for expertise in secondary or higher education.

Dr. W. Rita Jerman served over 30 years with Wake Technical Community College in various roles.  Before her retirement in 2019, Rita served as the Sr. Vice President for Enrollment and Student Services and the Chief Campus Officer for the Research Triangle Park Campus in Morrisville.  The College experienced tremendous enrollment growth and increased partnerships with Wake County Public Schools and local industry during her tenure.  Currently, she is a Strategic Business Advisor with Ellucian.

As a lifelong learner, Dr. Jerman earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and taught high school English in Durham and Wake County.  She later earned a Master’s in Education in Training and Development from North Carolina State University and a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Management from Capella University.
