Beth Anderson



Appointed on September 14, 2023 by the UNC Board of Governors. Currently serving as an administrator for a nonpublic school that enrolls students receiving scholarships from the Opportunity Scholarship Program.

Beth Anderson is the executive director of Hill Learning Center in Durham, North Carolina. Founded in 1977, Hill Learning Center is a hub for equitable and differentiated, research-based practices for supporting students with learning differences and attention challenges. From 2007-2014, Beth was a senior leader at Teach For America (TFA). Previously, Beth was a lecturer at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, where she was the co-founder and managing director of the Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship (CASE) and a research associate at Stanford’s Center for Social Innovation. Beth is currently on the board of the Core Knowledge Foundation and the advisory board for CASE as well as a member of the Pahara-Aspen Education Fellowship Spring 2016 cohort. Beth holds a BA in Classics from Williams College and an MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.
