ESA+ Awarding Process
ESA+ Awarding Process
In early April, NCSEAA will conduct a lottery and notify families.
Eligible applications submitted by March 1st will be entered into a random lottery. Students are awarded the ESA+ Scholarship in order of lottery number until funding is exhausted.
*Note: students who received funding in 2023-24 will renew their funding before the lottery takes place.
Awards
Applicants who are selected in the lottery are awarded an annual scholarship of $9,000 or $17,000.
- For more information about the scholarship award levels see the August 2, 2023 webinar, “Award Levels and How to Update the Area of Disability.”
Waitlist
If the number of eligible applications exceeds the amount of funds available, students will be added to a waitlist to fill slots that may become available at a later date.
